Windy City vs. Cleveland

CLEVELAND (Interstat) — The Cleveland Charge delivered a dominant fourth-quarter performance to pull away from the Windy City Bulls, securing a 125-99 victory in a G League matchup Friday night at Wolstein Center.

The game, a rematch of a 43-point Cleveland win just three days prior, followed a similar script as the Charge used a balanced offensive attack and a decisive closing period to improve their record to 26-14. Windy City fell to 19-21 with the loss.

For three quarters, the Bulls managed to keep pace, trailing by just 13 points entering the final period. However, the Charge exploded for 38 points in the fourth, their highest-scoring quarter of the night, while holding Windy City to 25 to turn a competitive contest into a lopsided result.

The most critical sequence of the game occurred early in the fourth quarter, effectively extinguishing any lingering hope for a Windy City comeback. Leading 92-79, Cleveland opened the period with a 10-2 run in just over two minutes. The surge was capped by a Tristan Enaruna dunk off an assist from Darius Brown, forcing a Windy City timeout with the deficit at 102-81. The Bulls never recovered, as the Charge continued to build their lead, which ballooned to as many as 29 points in the final minutes.

Cleveland’s offense operated with high efficiency throughout, led by the playmaking of point guard Darius Brown, who consistently found open teammates. Forward Tristan Enaruna provided a versatile scoring punch, while center Olivier Sarr anchored the interior at both ends. The Charge also received significant contributions from Riley Minix and Miller Kopp, whose perimeter shooting stretched the Windy City defense.

Windy City was led by point guard Ryan Woolridge, who attacked the basket persistently, and forward Mouhamadou Gueye, who offered activity around the rim. Center Giorgi Bezhanishvili and forward Justin Jackson, a native of Scarborough, Canada, also provided offensive moments for the Bulls. However, the team struggled to string together consistent defensive stops and was ultimately overwhelmed by Cleveland’s depth and execution in the second half.

The win solidifies Cleveland’s position near the top of the league standings, while Windy City continues to search for consistency as it navigates the latter part of the season. Both teams return to action Sunday, with Cleveland hosting Capital City and Windy City returning home to face Rio Grande Valley.
