Windy City vs. Cleveland

CLEVELAND (Interstat) — The Windy City Bulls seek a measure of redemption Friday night when they visit the Cleveland Charge in a G League rematch just three days after suffering a lopsided 43-point defeat on the same floor.

The game at the Wolstein Center pits teams heading in opposite directions. Cleveland (25-14) sits among the top contenders in the league, while Windy City (19-20) looks to halt a two-game skid and climb back to .500.

The Charge dominated Tuesday’s meeting, winning 148-105 behind a blistering offensive performance. Cleveland guard Tyrese Proctor was instrumental in that victory, scoring 29 points and dishing six assists in just 26 minutes. He will be a focal point for the Bulls’ defense as they attempt to slow a Charge attack that averages over 127 points per game.

Windy City will lean on forward Mouhamadou Gueye, who has been a consistent bright spot. Gueye posted a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds in Tuesday’s loss, continuing a strong stretch of play. Over his last 10 games, he is averaging 15.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.2 blocks, providing a versatile defensive presence and scoring inside.

The Bulls’ recent results have been uneven, with a 4-6 record over their last 10 contests. Their defense, which allowed 148 points to Cleveland and 122 to Maine in their last outing, will need significant tightening. Support for Gueye will be crucial; Keyshawn Bryant and Giorgi Bezhanishvili, who combined for 42 points on Tuesday, must provide efficient secondary scoring.

Cleveland has won two of three matchups against Windy City this season, including both games played in Cleveland. The Charge have shown resilience, bouncing back from a Feb. 27 loss to Osceola with a commanding win over the Bulls.

Friday’s contest is the start of a two-game homestand for Cleveland, which hosts Capital City on Sunday. Windy City continues a road trip before returning home to face Rio Grande Valley on Sunday. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
