Westchester vs. Delaware
WILMINGTON, Del. (Interstat) — In a high-octane offensive display, the Westchester Knicks snapped a two-game skid and avenged a narrow loss from earlier in the week by outlasting the Delaware Blue Coats 132-120 in a G League contest Friday night at 76ers Fieldhouse.
The game, a rematch of Delaware’s 125-122 victory on Wednesday, was defined by a blistering first-half shooting performance from Westchester that the home team could never fully overcome. The Knicks built a double-digit lead by halftime and maintained control throughout the second half to improve their season record to 11-29. Delaware fell to 18-21.
The most critical phase of the game unfolded in the second quarter, where Westchester extended its lead and established a cushion that would prove insurmountable. After a tightly contested first quarter that ended with Delaware leading 36-33, the Knicks erupted for 35 points in the second period. A key sequence saw Westchester’s Isaiah Roby connect on consecutive three-pointers, the second forcing a Delaware timeout with 9:23 remaining in the half and the Knicks having seized momentum. Westchester’s offensive execution, fueled by ball movement and transition opportunities, stretched the lead to as many as 13 points before settling for a 68-65 advantage at the intermission.
Westchester’s Dillon Jones, the game’s standout performer, orchestrated the victory with a comprehensive stat line of 23 points, seven rebounds and six assists in 37 minutes. He was supported by a trio of high-scoring teammates: Dink Pate and T.J. Warren each scored 25 points, while Nick Jourdain added a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Delaware was led by point guard Kennedy Chandler of Bel Aire, Kansas, who posted a double-double of his own with 25 points and 10 assists. Ibrahim Cisse contributed 18 points and seven rebounds for the Blue Coats, and DeAndre Williams finished with 19 points and nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Delaware fought to keep pace, closing the gap to three points on several occasions in the third quarter. Each time, however, Westchester had an answer, often from beyond the arc. The Knicks’ consistent scoring across all four quarters—33, 35, 32, and 32 points—prevented any sustained comeback. Delaware never led in the second half, as Westchester’s lead fluctuated between 8 and 15 points throughout the final period before closing at the 12-point margin.
The win marked a measure of revenge for Westchester, which had lost three straight to Delaware this season, including the matchup just 48 hours prior. According to Interstat’s ELO system, Delaware had entered the game with a 69.7 percent probability to win.
