Texas vs. Memphis
SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (Interstat) — Two teams near the bottom of the G League standings will meet Tuesday when the Texas Legends visit the Memphis Hustle at DeSoto Civic Center.
The Legends (13-25) and Hustle (12-28) have struggled this season, but both feature recent individual bright spots. Texas forward Matt Cross is coming off a dominant performance, logging 18 points, 13 rebounds and four assists in 41 minutes in a 112-105 loss to the Valley Vipers on Feb. 28. Over his last eight games, Cross has averaged a double-double.
Memphis will counter with forward Eric Dixon, who is on a scoring tear. Dixon erupted for 34 points and 10 rebounds in a 117-97 win over Wisconsin on Feb. 26 and is averaging 22.0 points over his last six contests.
The teams have split two meetings this season, with the road team winning each time. Texas won the most recent matchup 132-123 in Memphis on Jan. 14.
Both squads are looking to halt recent slides. The Legends have lost seven consecutive games, including a 112-105 decision to Valley on Saturday. The Hustle have dropped three of their last four, most recently falling 121-118 at Austin on Sunday.
Despite the similar records, Interstat’s game simulator projects a comfortable 122-100 victory for the visiting Legends.
Tuesday’s game tips off a three-game road trip for Texas. Memphis continues a three-game homestand before heading on the road.
