Memphis vs. Austin
AUSTIN, Texas (Interstat) — The Austin Spurs, one of the G League’s top teams, will look to continue their dominance over the struggling Memphis Hustle when the teams meet Sunday at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
Austin (27-11) holds a commanding position in the standings and has won all three matchups against Memphis (12-27) this season, including a 102-97 victory just over a week ago on Feb. 22. Statistical models heavily favor the Spurs, with Interstat’s ELO system giving them a 91.6% probability to win.
The Spurs are led by wing Donovan Williams, who is averaging 24.2 points and 6.4 rebounds over his last five games. He scored 26 points with eight rebounds in Austin’s most recent outing, a 102-94 win over Motor City on Thursday.
Memphis, mired in a 2-8 stretch over its last 10 games, will lean on forward Eric Dixon. He is coming off a 34-point, 10-rebound performance in a win over Wisconsin on Feb. 26 and has scored 20 or more points in four of his last seven contests. In the Feb. 22 loss in Austin, Dixon had 13 points and eight rebounds.
The Hustle are looking to avoid a three-game season sweep on the Spurs’ home floor. Following this contest, Austin begins a four-game road trip on March 7 in Sioux Falls. Memphis returns home to host Texas on Tuesday.
