Sioux Falls vs. Osceola
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Interstat) — The Sioux Falls Skyforce built a massive early lead and withstood a sustained second-half rally by the Osceola Magic to secure a 123-108 victory in a G League contest Sunday at Silver Spurs Arena.
The Skyforce, the visiting team, dominated the opening period, racing to a 36-21 lead behind efficient offense and disruptive defense. They extended their advantage to 66-46 by halftime, showcasing a balanced attack that consistently found open shots.
Osceola emerged from the break with renewed energy, staging a significant comeback attempt in the third quarter. The Magic outscored Sioux Falls 33-28 in the period, cutting into the deficit by capitalizing on a more aggressive offensive approach and forcing several Skyforce turnovers. The rally narrowed the gap and threatened to shift the game’s momentum entirely.
However, the Skyforce stabilized in the final quarter. They managed to halt the Magic’s surge and consistently answered Osceola’s baskets to maintain a comfortable margin. The early cushion proved insurmountable for Osceola, as Sioux Falls executed down the stretch to close out the win.
The victory improved Sioux Falls’ season record to 22-18 across all competitions, while Osceola fell to 25-13.
The most important part of the game was Osceola’s third-quarter rally, which transformed the contest from a potential blowout into a competitive battle. After trailing by 20 at halftime, the Magic’s increased defensive pressure and improved shot-making cut the lead to a more manageable margin and tested the Skyforce’s composure. Sioux Falls’ ability to withstand that push and reassert control in the fourth quarter was the definitive response that secured the road victory.
Dennis Smith, playing point guard for Sioux Falls, contributed 10 points, three rebounds and four assists in 21 minutes of action.
The two teams are scheduled to meet again at Silver Spurs Arena on Tuesday.
