Greensboro vs. Raptors 905

Top G League Clash Set as Raptors 905 Host Greensboro Swarm

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (Interstat) — A marquee matchup of the NBA G League’s top teams is set for Saturday when the Greensboro Swarm visit the Raptors 905 at Hershey Centre.

The Raptors 905 (30-9), owners of the league’s best record, will face a formidable challenge from the second-place Swarm (27-10) in a potential playoff preview. The home team has won both prior meetings this season, with Raptors 905 sweeping a two-game set in Greensboro in November.

Raptors 905 enter on a strong run, having won seven of their last 10 games. Their offense has been powered by guard A.J. Lawson, who is averaging 25.1 points over his last seven contests. Lawson dropped 35 points in a Feb. 12 road loss and has scored at least 25 points in five of those outings.

The Swarm counter with their own rising talent in forward Tidjane Salaun. The rookie is coming off a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double in a 126-105 road win at Memphis on Tuesday. He also posted 25 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Windy City earlier this month. Greensboro has been dominant lately, winning eight of its last 10 games, including a current three-game winning streak where they have won by an average margin of 22.3 points.

Both teams feature high-scoring attacks. Raptors 905 have surpassed 140 points twice in recent weeks, while the Swarm have scored 126 or more in four of their last five victories.

The game will be the first of a quick home-and-home series, with the teams set to meet again at Hershey Centre on Sunday. Saturday’s contest could have significant implications for postseason seeding as the regular season enters its final month.
