Capital City vs. Westchester

WESTCHESTER, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Westchester Knicks used a blistering start and a dominant performance from beyond the arc to defeat the Capital City Go-Go 124-112 in a G League matchup on Thursday night at Westchester County Center.

The Knicks, who entered the game with the league’s worst record, seized control immediately with a 34-point first quarter, fueled by hot 3-point shooting and a disruptive defense that forced six Capital City turnovers in the opening period. Westchester never trailed, building a double-digit lead early and maintaining it for nearly the entire contest to snap a two-game losing streak in the season series against the Go-Go.

Capital City, which had routed Westchester by 49 points on New Year’s Day, struggled to match the home team’s energy or offensive efficiency. The Knicks shot 17 for 48 from 3-point range, while Capital City managed just 12 makes on 29 attempts. Westchester also capitalized on 18 Go-Go turnovers, converting them into easy transition opportunities and scoring 11 steals as a team.

The most important stretch of the game came in the opening minutes, as Westchester raced out to a 15-2 lead. The Knicks hit three 3-pointers during the run, two from Isaiah Roby and one from Bryson Warren, while their defense forced three quick Capital City turnovers. The Go-Go called a timeout just three minutes into the game, but they could never fully recover from the early deficit, spending the rest of the night fighting an uphill battle.

Keshon Gilbert led all scorers with a stellar performance for Capital City, finishing with 20 points and 13 assists. Skal Labissiere added 21 points and eight rebounds, and Alondes Williams contributed 24 points. Despite the high individual outputs, the Go-Go’s offense was often disjointed, tallying only five assists as a team compared to Westchester’s 11.

Westchester’s attack was balanced and efficient. Pacome Dadiet scored 20 points, while Isaiah Roby added 18 points and five rebounds. Kevin McCullar chipped in 16 points and six assists, and Dillon Jones posted 12 points and seven assists. The Knicks’ offensive rating of 130.4 points per 100 possessions far outpaced Capital City’s mark of 114.0.

The loss drops Capital City to 18-21 on the season, while Westchester improves to 10-27. The Go-Go will look to rebound at home against College Park on Saturday. The Knicks travel to face Long Island on Sunday.
