Capital City vs. Westchester
Preview: Capital City Go-Go at Westchester Knicks
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Capital City Go-Go visit the Westchester Knicks in a G League matchup on Thursday night at Westchester County Center, with the visiting Go-Go looking to solidify a winning record against the league’s struggling home side.
Capital City (18-19) enters on a modest upswing, having won two of its last three games, including a 130-114 road victory at Noblesville on Sunday. The Go-Go’s recent performances have been fueled by forward Skal Labissiere, who is averaging 22.1 points and 7.6 rebounds over his last 10 contests. He posted 25 points and seven rebounds in Sunday’s win.
Westchester (9-27) has shown rare momentum, securing consecutive victories last week against Grand Rapids and Cleveland for its first winning streak since late January. Rookie guard Kevin McCullar has been pivotal, averaging 18.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in those two wins.
The season series favors Capital City, which has won two of the three previous meetings. The most recent encounter was a decisive 139-90 road win for the Go-Go on Jan. 1. Westchester’s lone victory came at Capital City, 112-107, on Nov. 22.
Capital City’s offense, which has scored 125 or more points in three of its last five games, will test a Westchester defense that ranks near the bottom of the league. The Go-Go also feature balanced scoring behind Labissiere, with Kadary Richmond and Chris Livingston coming off strong performances.
Westchester will rely on McCullar and Pacome Dadiet, who scored 28 points in the win over Cleveland, to generate offense. The Knicks have allowed 119 or more points in seven of their last ten games.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 120-100 Capital City victory.
Following this game, the Go-Go host College Park on Saturday. The Knicks begin a three-game road trip at Long Island on Sunday.
