Cleveland vs. Osceola
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Interstat) — The Cleveland Charge delivered a commanding performance on the road Thursday night, dismantling the Osceola Magic 129-107 in a G League matchup at Silver Spurs Arena. The victory, fueled by a dominant second quarter, snapped Osceola’s two-game winning streak and tightened the race in the standings.
Cleveland improved to 24-13, while Osceola fell to 24-12.
The game’s most critical sequence came in the second period, where the Charge transformed a tight contest into a substantial lead they would never relinquish. After a high-scoring first quarter that saw Osceola hold a narrow 34-28 advantage, Cleveland’s offense erupted. The Charge poured in 47 points in the second quarter, overwhelming the Magic defense with a combination of efficient outside shooting and relentless interior play.
The surge began with Cleveland erasing the deficit and building a double-digit lead behind the playmaking of Darius Brown and the scoring of Riley Minix and Tristan Enaruna. The Charge shot a blistering percentage from the field during the frame, capitalizing on several Osceola turnovers to fuel their transition game. A key sequence saw Zeke Mayo and Miller Kopp hit consecutive three-pointers, followed by an alley-oop layup from Enaruna assisted by Minix, forcing multiple Osceola timeouts to no avail. By halftime, Cleveland had turned the six-point first-quarter deficit into a 75-70 lead, outscoring the Magic by 19 points in the quarter.
Osceola, which entered the game with a 74.4% probability of winning according to Interstat’s ELO system, never recovered from Cleveland’s second-quarter onslaught. The Magic’s offense, which was efficient early, went cold in the third quarter, managing only 15 points. Cleveland extended its lead during that period, effectively sealing the game by holding Osceola to a combined 37 points in the second and third quarters while scoring 77 of their own.
The Charge maintained their offensive balance throughout the night, scoring 30 points in the third quarter and 24 in the fourth to close out the win. Cleveland’s defense was equally impactful, generating steals and disrupting Osceola’s rhythm, particularly after the first quarter.
The game featured a fast-paced opening period with both teams trading baskets. Osceola’ Lester Quinones and Reece Beekman connected from deep, while Cleveland’s Minix answered with early three-pointers. The Magic initially found success inside with Colin Castleton, but Cleveland’s persistent ball pressure, led by steals from Brown and Warith Alatishe, began to create extra possessions that would foreshadow the coming turnaround.
Cleveland now returns home to host Windy City on Tuesday, March 3. Osceola looks to rebound when it hosts Sioux Falls on Sunday, March 1.
