Greensboro vs. Memphis

Preview: Greensboro Swarm at Memphis Hustle

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (Interstat) — A clash between teams at opposite ends of the NBA G League standings is set for Tuesday when the East-leading Greensboro Swarm visit the struggling Memphis Hustle at DeSoto Civic Center.

The Swarm (26-10) enter on a roll, winners of seven of their last eight games, including a 129-104 road rout of the Wisconsin Herd on Saturday. They boast the league’s best record and a potent offense that has averaged 124.5 points over its last four contests.

Guard Marcus Garrett is the engine for Greensboro. He is coming off a stellar 21-point, 10-assist performance against Wisconsin and has recorded a double-double in two of his last three games. His backcourt mate, Terrell Brown Jr., added 18 points and seven assists in the win, while Jaylen Sims contributed 24 points.

Conversely, the Hustle (11-25) have lost five of their last six, including a 102-97 defeat at Austin on Sunday. They have struggled defensively, allowing an average of 116.8 points per game this season.

Memphis will look to guard DeJon Jarreau for a spark. He scored a season-high 29 points to go with six rebounds and five assists in a narrow loss to Stockton on Feb. 20. Jarreau has averaged 20.8 points over his last four appearances.

The Hustle will need a significant defensive effort to slow the Swarm’s momentum. Greensboro has dominated recent matchups against lower-tier opponents, winning those games by an average margin of 18.3 points.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a Greensboro victory, 122-100.

Following this game, Memphis hosts Wisconsin for a two-game set starting Thursday. Greensboro continues its road trip with a back-to-back at Raptors 905 on Feb. 28 and March 1.
