Memphis vs. Austin

AUSTIN, Texas (Interstat) — The surging Austin Spurs (25-9) host the struggling Memphis Hustle (11-23) in a G League matchup Sunday at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.

Austin enters on a strong run, winning seven of its last nine games, including a 116-115 overtime thriller at San Diego on Thursday. Forward Harrison Ingram fueled that victory with 23 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, continuing an exceptional stretch. Over his last five games, Ingram is averaging 22.2 points, 12.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists, showcasing his all-around versatility for the Western Conference contenders.

Memphis seeks to halt a four-game slide, most recently a 134-116 home loss to Santa Cruz on Feb. 12. Despite the team’s struggles, forward Nate Hinton has been a consistent bright spot. He posted 29 points and 13 rebounds in that defeat, part of a run where he has scored 20 or more points in five of his last eight contests. Hinton is averaging 21.1 points and 8.6 rebounds over that span.

The season series has been one-sided so far, with Austin sweeping a two-game set in Memphis in November by an average margin of 18 points. The Spurs’ balanced attack and superior record present a significant challenge for the Hustle, who have won just three times since Jan. 1.

Austin’s depth has been key, with players like Donovan Williams and James Banks providing consistent support alongside Ingram. Memphis will need more than just Hinton’s production to compete; Tyler Burton (27 points vs. Santa Cruz) and Eric Dixon are among those who must contribute heavily.

This game is the first of two meetings between the teams in a week, with a rematch scheduled in Austin next Sunday, March 1. For the Hustle, it’s a critical opportunity to build momentum before returning home. For the Spurs, it’s a chance to solidify their standing against a lower-ranked opponent.

Tip-off is set for Sunday afternoon.
