Greensboro vs. Wisconsin
Preview: Greensboro Swarm at Wisconsin Herd
OSHKOSH, Wis. (Interstat) — A surging Greensboro Swarm squad visits a struggling Wisconsin Herd team in a G League matchup Friday at Oshkosh Arena.
The Swarm (24-10) enter on a three-game winning streak and boast one of the league’s best records. They are coming off a 119-107 home victory over Capital City on Feb. 12, where a balanced attack led by P.J. Hall, Marcus Garrett and D.J. Rodman proved too much.
Conversely, the Herd (11-24) have lost five straight, including a 124-110 defeat to Birmingham on Feb. 10. Wisconsin has managed just one win in its last nine outings, a 124-99 road victory at Capital City on Jan. 30.
Greensboro’s success has been fueled by consistent interior dominance, particularly from center P.J. Hall. Over his last seven games, Hall is averaging a double-double, including a 20-point, 16-rebound, 3-block performance in his last start. His recent stretch features four double-doubles and two games with at least 26 points and 10 rebounds.
Wisconsin will counter with guard Mark Sears, its primary offensive engine. Sears is averaging 17.7 points and 5.9 assists per game this season and is coming off a 33-point, 6-assist effort in the loss to Birmingham. However, his high output has often been in vain during the team’s prolonged slump.
The teams meet again in Oshkosh on Saturday, concluding a brief two-game set. Greensboro then embarks on a four-game road trip, while Wisconsin hits the road for two games next week.
Friday’s contest tips off at 7 p.m. CST.
