Osceola vs. Capital City
Preview: Osceola Magic at Capital City Go-Go
WASHINGTON (Interstat) — A surging Osceola Magic squad will look to continue its climb up the G League standings when it visits the struggling Capital City Go-Go on Thursday night at CareFirst Arena.
The Magic (22-10) enter the contest having won seven of their last eight games, including a 119-114 victory over Noblesville on Feb. 6 in their most recent outing. Their potent offense has averaged 121.6 points during that stretch.
Osceola is led by guard Lester Quinones, who has been on a scoring tear. Over his last seven games, Quinones is averaging 24.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists. He dropped 30 points and 11 rebounds in a win at Westchester on Jan. 24 and followed with 26 points in the Feb. 6 win over Noblesville.
The Capital City Go-Go (16-18) have lost four of their last five, including a 119-107 road loss to Greensboro on Feb. 12. The team has struggled with consistency, particularly on the defensive end, allowing an average of 119.2 points in those five contests.
A bright spot for the Go-Go has been the recent play of forward Kadary Richmond. He scored 24 points with six rebounds and four assists in the loss to Greensboro, and tallied 19 points and six assists in a narrow loss to Birmingham on Feb. 7. His production will be key against Osceola’s high-powered attack.
The Magic have found success with balance. In their last win, Reece Beekman dished out 10 assists and Alex Morales added 19 points. Capital City will counter with its own backcourt threat in Alondes Williams, who paired 24 points with six assists alongside Richmond in the last game.
Thursday’s matchup pits one of the league’s hottest teams against a home squad desperate to stop a slide and improve its playoff positioning. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
