Long Island Nets Roll Past Birmingham Squadron in G League Action
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Interstat) — The Long Island Nets used a dominant third quarter to pull away from the Birmingham Squadron for a 121-103 victory in a G League game Thursday afternoon at Legacy Arena.
Leading 58-52 at halftime, the Nets broke the game open by outscoring the Squadron 37-20 in the third period. The surge provided an insurmountable cushion despite a 31-point fourth quarter from Birmingham.
The win improved Long Island’s record to 21-16, while Birmingham fell to 13-26. The teams are scheduled for a rematch at the same venue Friday night. Interstat’s ELO system had given the Nets a 68.5% probability to win.
