Long Island vs. Birmingham

Preview: Long Island Nets at Birmingham Squadron

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Interstat) — The surging Long Island Nets visit the struggling Birmingham Squadron in a G League matchup on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at Legacy Arena.

The Nets (20-16) enter on a strong run, having won five of their last seven games. They are coming off a 123-107 road victory over Delaware on Feb. 12, where forward Jeenathan Williams led the way with 30 points and seven rebounds.

Williams is the player to watch for Long Island, averaging 19.8 points and 6.9 rebounds over his last 10 contests. He has scored 20 or more points in six of those games, including a 30-point performance last week, providing consistent offensive firepower.

In contrast, the Squadron (13-25) have lost three of their last four and are reeling from a 141-103 home defeat to Rip City on Feb. 12. Birmingham’s defense has been a persistent issue, allowing an average of 119.2 points over its last five games.

A bright spot in the blowout loss was forward Garrison Brooks, who erupted for a season-high 37 points and eight rebounds. Brooks, who will be a key focus for Birmingham, had been limited to minimal minutes and production in the two games prior.

The teams meet again in Birmingham on Friday, opening a brief two-game series. Long Island holds a significant edge in the standings and recent form, but will need to contain Brooks and solve a Squadron team playing at home. Birmingham seeks to leverage its home court and find defensive answers to snap its skid against a Nets squad riding momentum.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
