College Park vs. Noblesville
Preview: College Park Skyhawks at Noblesville Boom
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (Interstat) — The Noblesville Boom, sitting at .500, will look to capitalize on home court against the struggling College Park Skyhawks when the G League teams meet Thursday afternoon at the Arena at Innovation Mile.
The Boom (17-17) return home after splitting a two-game series at Long Island, most recently a 121-117 victory on Feb. 10. Forward Au’Diese Toney led that effort with 30 points and eight rebounds in 42 minutes, continuing a stretch of high-usage performances. Over his last four games, Toney is averaging 20.3 points and 6.3 rebounds.
Noblesville has won three of its last five games and has been strong at home lately, winning four of its last five in front of its own fans dating to Jan. 18.
College Park (9-25) arrives on a five-game losing streak and owns the league’s worst record. The Skyhawks are coming off a 133-108 home loss to Rip City on Monday. Guard Erik Reynolds has been a bright spot, scoring 29 points in that defeat after a 17-point outing in a win over Rip City on Feb. 7. Over his last three games, Reynolds is averaging 19.3 points.
The Skyhawks have lost 10 of their last 11 games overall. Their defense has been a persistent issue, allowing an average of 136.2 points during their current five-game skid.
This contest opens a two-game season series between the teams, who will meet again in Noblesville on March 5.
For the Boom, a victory would move them above .500 as they prepare for a three-game homestand. For the Skyhawks, the game represents a chance to halt their slide before a six-day break ahead of a road trip to Motor City on Feb. 20.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
