Capital City vs. Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Interstat) — The surging Greensboro Swarm look to continue their push atop the G League standings when they host the .500 Capital City Go-Go on Wednesday night at Greensboro Coliseum Fieldhouse.

The Swarm (22-10) enter with one of the league’s best records and are coming off a 123-110 road victory over the Cleveland Charge on Saturday. Guard Terrell Brown led the way in that win, scoring 27 points with five assists. Brown has been a key contributor, including a 27-point performance earlier this month, as Greensboro has won seven of its last 10 games.

Capital City (16-16) aims to bounce back from a 122-116 home loss to Birmingham on Saturday. The Go-Go are led by high-scoring guard Alondes Williams, who erupted for 40 points, eight rebounds and three assists in that defeat. Williams has been on a tear, averaging 22.3 points over his last 10 contests and scoring 30 or more twice in that span.

The season series is split 1-1. Capital City won a tight 109-107 overtime battle in Greensboro on Nov. 28, but the Swarm responded with a decisive 124-106 victory in the rematch two days later in Capital City.

For the Go-Go to succeed, they will need to find consistency beyond Williams. Kadary Richmond (19 points) and Damari Monsanto (20 points) provided support against Birmingham, but Capital City has alternated wins and losses in its last six games.

Greensboro boasts a more balanced and potent attack. In their recent win, Keyontae Johnson added 19 points and nine rebounds, while Jaylen Sims scored 22 points. The Swarm have scored 123 points or more in three of their last five outings.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Feb. 11. The teams will meet again at the same venue on Thursday night to complete the back-to-back set.
