Noblesville vs. Long Island
Preview: Noblesville Boom at Long Island Nets
UNIONDALE, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Long Island Nets will look to complete a quick home-and-home sweep when they host the Noblesville Boom in a G League matchup on Tuesday night at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
The Nets (19-15) handled the Boom (16-17) with relative ease just two days prior, winning 110-94 on Sunday. Long Island will aim to continue its strong play at home against a Noblesville team seeking immediate redemption and a .500 record.
A key focus for the Boom will be containing Long Island forward E.J. Liddell, who enters the game in prolific form. Liddell is averaging 28 points and 8 rebounds over his last two contests, including a 32-point, 10-rebound performance in a loss to Windy City on Friday. His scoring efficiency and presence in the paint have been central to the Nets’ offense.
Noblesville will counter with forward Jalen Slawson, who is coming off a historic triple-double in Friday’s loss at Osceola, posting 19 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists. Slawson has been a versatile catalyst for the Boom, averaging a near triple-double of 13.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 5.2 assists over his last 10 games. His all-around play will be critical if Noblesville hopes to solve the Long Island defense that stifled them earlier this week.
The Nets have won four of their last six games and hold a superior record in the standings. The Boom had been on a hot streak, winning six straight before their recent back-to-back losses to Osceola and Long Island. Tuesday’s contest represents a chance for Noblesville to halt that slide and gain ground.
Following this game, the Boom return home to face College Park on Thursday. The Nets hit the road for a game at Delaware on the same night.
