Austin vs. Rio Grande Valley

AUSTIN, Texas (Interstat) — The Austin Spurs, boasting the G League’s best record, will face a surging Rio Grande Valley Vipers squad on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas.

Austin (22-8) enters with the league’s top winning percentage (.733) and has won eight of its last 10 games. The Spurs are coming off a 104-95 victory over Texas on Wednesday, led by 22 points from guard Kyle Mangas.

Mangas has been a consistent offensive force, averaging 18.1 points over his last 10 contests. He scored 28 and 25 points in consecutive games at Salt Lake City last month and dropped 24 in a win over Capital City on Jan. 22.

The Vipers (18-13) have won six of their last seven, including a 130-116 win over Valley on Wednesday. That victory was powered by a triple-double from point guard Daishen Nix, who finished with 26 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists.

Nix has been spectacular during the team’s hot stretch, recording two triple-doubles and four double-doubles in his last 10 games. He posted 35 points, nine rebounds and 12 assists in a win over Greensboro on Jan. 10.

This will be the third meeting between the teams this season. Austin won both prior matchups at home in November, 130-123 on Nov. 23 and 118-100 on Nov. 24.

The Spurs’ recent success has been built on balance. In their last win, Jayden Nunn added 17 points and Harrison Ingram contributed 13 rebounds and six assists alongside Mangas’s scoring.

Rio Grande Valley’s offense has been explosive, scoring 126 points or more in five of its last seven victories. Alongside Nix, forwards Tristen Newton and Caleb McConnell have provided key secondary scoring, combining for 43 points in the last game.

Saturday’s contest pits the league’s top team against one of its hottest, setting the stage for a key Western Conference showdown.
