San Diego vs. Memphis

Preview of G League Game Between San Diego Clippers and Memphis Hustle

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (Interstat) — The surging San Diego Clippers visit the struggling Memphis Hustle on Friday night in a G League matchup at the DeSoto Civic Center.

The Clippers (17-15) enter on a three-game winning streak, including a 140-139 road victory over Salt Lake City on Monday. Memphis (10-20) looks to halt a two-game skid after a 135-105 loss at Motor City on Tuesday.

A key matchup will feature San Diego point guard Jaelen House against Memphis wing Nate Hinton. House has been instrumental in the Clippers’ recent success, averaging 25.7 points and 10.0 assists over his last three games. In Monday’s win, he posted 25 points and 12 assists.

Hinton has been a bright spot for the Hustle, scoring 20 or more points in three of his last five outings. He tallied 20 points and five rebounds in the loss to Motor City.

In their last game, San Diego needed big performances beyond House to edge Salt Lake City. Zach Freemantle scored 26 points and Patrick Baldwin Jr. added 26 points and four rebounds.

Memphis received a 25-point effort from Tyler Burton and a 12-point, 13-rebound, four-block performance from Lawson Lovering in its last contest, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a 30-point defeat.

The teams will meet again at the same venue on Sunday. According to Interstat’s game simulator, San Diego is projected to win Friday’s contest 121-100.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
