Noblesville vs. Osceola

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Interstat) — In a high-octane G League shootout that defied pregame projections, the visiting Noblesville Boom used a dominant third-quarter surge to secure a 129-117 victory over the Osceola Magic on Wednesday night at Silver Spurs Arena.

Interstat’s ELO system had given the Magic an 83.4 percent probability to win, but the Boom, led by a near triple-double from Ethan Thompson, flipped the script with a decisive stretch after halftime to earn the road win and improve to 16-15. Osceola fell to 21-10.

The game was an offensive showcase from the opening tip, with both teams trading baskets at a blistering pace. The first half ended with Noblesville holding a narrow 66-64 lead after a back-and-forth period that saw 13 lead changes. Osceola’s Ja’Vonte Smart and Lester Quinones combined for 43 points in the half, while Noblesville’s Cameron Hildreth, from Worthing, England, had 17.

The most important part of the game arrived in the third quarter. The Boom tightened their defense, holding the potent Magic offense to just 20 points in the period. Meanwhile, Noblesville’s offense continued to fire, scoring 30 points to build a 96-84 advantage heading into the final frame. The Boom forced seven Osceola turnovers in the quarter, converting them into easy transition opportunities that broke the game open.

Noblesville never let the lead slip below double digits for the entire fourth quarter, weathering a late flurry of 3-pointers from Osceola’s backcourt. The Boom’s efficiency was key; they scored 129 points on 104 possessions for an offensive rating of 124.6, outperforming Osceola’s 117 points on 103 possessions (113.6 offensive rating).

He was supported by a balanced attack: Gabe McGlothan scored 25 points, Hildreth finished with 25, Au’Diese Toney added 18 points and seven rebounds, and Jalen Slawson pulled down 13 rebounds.

Osceola was led by a game-high 35 points from Smart, who also had four assists. Quinones contributed 28 points and five rebounds, while Alex Morales scored 19. Will Baker recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
