UNIONDALE, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Long Island Nets used a dominant third quarter to overcome an early deficit and defeat the Grand Rapids Gold 115-107 in a G League game Monday at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Grand Rapids built a 66-55 halftime lead behind a strong first half. The momentum shifted decisively after halftime, as Long Island outscored the Gold 40-12 in the third quarter to seize control. The Nets’ surge proved insurmountable despite a late push from Grand Rapids in the final period.
With the win, Long Island improved its season record to 17-14. Grand Rapids fell to 16-14. The teams are scheduled to meet again on Feb. 26.
