Sioux Falls vs. Texas

FRISCO, Texas (Interstat) — Dain Dainja scored a game-high 35 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Sioux Falls Skyforce to a wire-to-wire 125-109 victory over the Texas Legends in a G League matchup Sunday at Dr Pepper Arena.

The Skyforce, who lost to the Legends by 10 points just one day earlier, never trailed, establishing an early double-digit lead and maintaining control throughout to improve their season record to 18-14. Texas fell to 13-18.

Sioux Falls set the tone immediately, opening the game on a 15-5 run fueled by active defense that forced four Texas turnovers in the first three minutes. The Skyforce led 32-28 after a high-scoring first quarter and extended their advantage to 64-56 by halftime, consistently answering any Texas push with timely baskets.

The most important stretch of the game came early in the third quarter. After Texas cut the deficit to 61-59, Sioux Falls unleashed a decisive 14-2 run over a three-minute span. The surge was keyed by their defense, which generated three consecutive steals leading to easy transition scores. Dainja was central to the run, scoring six points, while Bez Mbeng contributed two steals and four assists during the burst, pushing the Skyforce lead to 75-63. Texas never got within single digits again.

Dainja, a 6-foot-9 center from Chicago, dominated the interior, adding five assists to his 35-point, 12-rebound double-double. His performance marked a dramatic rebound from his outing in Saturday’s loss to Texas, where he was limited to six points and five rebounds in 26 minutes.

He received ample support from the Sioux Falls backcourt. Gabe Madsen scored 27 points, including five 3-pointers, and Trevor Keels added 24 points and eight assists. Cam Carter provided 15 points, six assists and disruptive defense off the bench.

For the Legends, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl posted a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Dalano Banton scored 22 points and Jordan Hall finished with 20 points, but the team was plagued by 22 turnovers, which Sioux Falls converted into 32 points.

The Skyforce shot consistently each quarter, scoring 32, 32, 29 and 32 points, respectively. The Legends, meanwhile, could not put together a sustained offensive run, scoring 28, 28, 26 and 27 by quarter.

Sioux Falls continues its road trip against the Maine Celtics on Wednesday. Texas travels to face the Austin Spurs on Wednesday.
