College Park vs. San Diego

SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — In a high-octane offensive display, the San Diego Clippers pulled away in the second half to defeat the College Park Skyhawks 132-112 in a G League game Saturday night at Frontwave Arena.

The game, a rematch of a one-point San Diego victory just 24 hours earlier, was decisively different. After trailing by just two points at halftime, the Clippers erupted for 38 points in the third quarter to seize control, turning a narrow 63-61 lead into a 101-88 advantage heading into the final period.

San Diego’s offensive efficiency was the story, as they shot 55% from the field and a blistering 50% from three-point range, making 19 of 38 attempts. College Park, despite shooting 45% overall, was hampered by 29% shooting from beyond the arc and was ultimately overwhelmed by the Clippers’ sustained firepower.

The most critical phase of the game began late in the third quarter. Leading 89-84, San Diego ignited a game-breaking 12-4 run over the final 2:40 of the period. The surge was fueled by Taylor Funk, who hit a three-pointer and a free throw, and Jaelen House, who capped the quarter with a step-back three-pointer at the buzzer to extend the lead to 13 points. The Clippers never looked back, leading by as many as 20 in the fourth quarter.

House, the Clippers’ point guard, followed his 27-point performance from Friday with a dominant 26-point, 10-assist double-double, orchestrating the offense throughout. Patrick Baldwin added 26 points and 11 rebounds, while Funk provided a crucial spark off the bench with 20 points, including five three-pointers.

For College Park, Malik Williams of Fort Wayne, Indiana, recorded a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double. RayJ Dennis added 23 points and eight assists, and Nikola Djurisic contributed 17 points and seven rebounds. The Skyhawks’ offense, which posted an offensive rating of 115.1, was simply outgunned by a San Diego unit that posted a stellar 137.1 rating.

The loss extends College Park’s struggles, dropping their record to 8-22. San Diego improved to 16-15, moving above .500 with the victory. The Clippers’ win probability was projected at 75.7% before the game by Interstat’s ELO system, a forecast validated by their second-half explosion.

Both teams now embark on extended road trips, with College Park set to host Cleveland on Monday and San Diego traveling to face Salt Lake City the same night.
