Wisconsin vs. Capital City
Preview: Wisconsin Herd at Capital City Go-Go
WASHINGTON (Interstat) — The Capital City Go-Go will seek immediate redemption when they host the Wisconsin Herd for a second consecutive night on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at CareFirst Arena.
The Go-Go (14-14) were routed 124-99 by the Herd (11-19) on Friday night, a result that snapped Capital City’s three-game winning streak and dropped them to .500. Wisconsin’s victory marked a rare bright spot in a challenging season and gave them a 1-0 lead in the season series.
A key matchup will feature two of the G League’s most dynamic guards. Wisconsin’s Cormac Ryan enters on a hot streak, averaging 22.1 points over his last 10 games. He scored 25 points in Friday’s win and has topped 20 points in seven of his last ten outings.
Capital City will counter with Alondes Williams, who is coming off a 25-point, 9-rebound, 5-assist performance in a win at Austin on Jan. 23. Williams has been a consistent all-around force for the Go-Go, contributing heavily as a scorer, rebounder and playmaker.
The game presents a stark contrast in recent momentum. While the Herd have won two of their last three, the Go-Go had been playing some of their best basketball of the season prior to Friday’s stumble, winning five of seven before the loss.
For Wisconsin, sustaining the offensive efficiency from Friday’s blowout win is critical. For Capital City, the focus will be on a defensive recalibration after allowing a season-high in points in the previous meeting. The quick turnaround offers the Go-Go a chance to correct their mistakes and split the back-to-back set on their home floor.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. The Go-Go will begin a three-game homestand against South Bay on Wednesday, Feb. 4. The Herd continue a road trip at Delaware on Thursday, Feb. 5.
