Westchester vs. Osceola

Preview: Westchester Knicks at Osceola Magic

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Interstat) — The Osceola Magic will look to continue their dominance over the struggling Westchester Knicks when the G League teams meet Thursday at Silver Spurs Arena.

The Magic (18-9) handily defeated the Knicks (6-22) 124-103 just five days ago on Jan. 24. Osceola has won seven of its last nine games, while Westchester has lost eight of its last ten.

Osceola guard Lester Quinones has been a central force in the team’s success, averaging 26.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists over his last eight games. He scored 30 points with 11 rebounds in the win over Westchester last weekend and followed that with 25 points, six rebounds and five assists in a 112-109 victory over Raptors 905 on Monday.

Westchester’s bright spot has been forward Pacome Dadiet, who scored 20 points against Osceola on Saturday and had 26 points and six rebounds in a win over Windy City on Jan. 23. He will need another high-output performance to keep pace with the Magic’s offense.

The Knicks have the league’s worst record and rank near the bottom in both offensive rating and defensive rating. Their 103-114 loss to Wisconsin on Jan. 19 and a 90-139 defeat to Capital City on New Year’s Day highlight a season of struggles.

Conversely, Osceola boasts one of the G League’s top offenses, having scored 124 or more points in four of its last six contests. Their recent road swing saw them go 5-1, with wins in Birmingham, College Park and Windy City.

This is the second of at least three scheduled meetings this season. Following this contest, Westchester begins a four-game road trip through Maine and Salt Lake City. Osceola opens a brief homestand, hosting South Bay on Monday.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST Thursday.
