Windy City vs. Oklahoma City

TULSA, Okla. (Interstat) — In a game defined by a stunning collapse and an improbable resurgence, the Windy City Bulls outlasted the Oklahoma City Blue 123-102 in overtime in a G League matchup Wednesday afternoon at BOK Center.

The most pivotal phase of the contest was not the extra period, which Windy City dominated, but a dramatic fourth-quarter turnaround that forced the game beyond regulation. Trailing 87-76 with under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Bulls mounted a furious 9-0 run to close the frame, holding Oklahoma City scoreless for the final 1:31 of regulation. The surge was capped by a Keyshawn Bryant tip shot as time expired, knotting the score at 87 and sending the game to overtime, completely shifting the momentum.

Windy City carried that wave into the extra period, overwhelming the Blue with a 28-20 overtime performance. The Bulls’ offense, which had stagnated in the second half with just 25 points combined in the third and fourth quarters, exploded for 28 points in the five-minute overtime. Oklahoma City, meanwhile, was left reeling from its late-game meltdown and could not recover.

The game featured starkly contrasting halves. Windy City built a substantial early lead, fueled by a 43-point second quarter, to take a 70-54 advantage into halftime. Oklahoma City responded after the break, clamping down defensively to hold the Bulls to 13 points in the third quarter and erasing the deficit. The Blue’s 22-6 fourth-quarter run appeared to have secured the victory before the Bulls’ last-gasp rally.

Wooga Poplar provided a critical spark off the bench for Windy City, scoring 15 points in just eight minutes of action. His energy in the first half helped build the initial lead. For Oklahoma City, Payton Sandfort led the way with 19 points, four rebounds and four assists.

The victory improved Windy City’s record to 14-13 across all competitions, while Oklahoma City fell to 8-22. The Bulls have now won two straight in Tulsa after a 116-103 victory over the Blue just two days prior on Monday.

Statistically, Windy City’s efficiency proved decisive. The Bulls shot 55% from the floor and 44% from three-point range, compared to Oklahoma City’s 36% and 32% shooting, respectively. Windy City also committed only four turnovers, exploiting a significant advantage in possessions despite being outrebounded 22-7.

The Bulls continue their road trip with a back-to-back set at Greensboro on Friday and Saturday. Oklahoma City looks to regroup at home against Rio Grande Valley on Sunday.
