Oklahoma City vs. San Diego

SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — The San Diego Clippers look to solidify their position above .500 when they host the struggling Oklahoma City Blue in a G League matchup on Saturday night at Frontwave Arena.

The Clippers (14-13) return home after splitting a two-game series in Mexico City, most recently falling 113-101 on Tuesday. Jahmyl Telfort led San Diego in that loss with 27 points and 10 rebounds, continuing a strong stretch for the forward. Over his last 10 games, Telfort is averaging 17.2 points and 6.2 rebounds, providing consistent production for a San Diego team that has won three of its last five.

They face an Oklahoma City Blue squad mired in a difficult season, entering with a 6-20 record. The Blue have lost eight of their last nine games, including a 127-112 defeat to Austin on Tuesday. In that contest, Bryce Thompson erupted for a season-high 37 points, showcasing the scoring potential that makes him a player to watch. The guard is averaging 20.1 points over his last eight appearances, though his efforts have rarely translated to wins for Oklahoma City.

The teams are familiar with each other, having just played on Friday night. Details from that contest were not provided, but it sets up a quick back-to-back series on the Clippers’ home floor.

For San Diego, balance has been key. Alongside Telfort, guards Jaelen House and John Poulakidas have provided offensive sparks, with House dropping 23 points and seven assists in the recent Mexico City loss. The Clippers will aim to control the tempo and exploit an Oklahoma City defense that has allowed an average of 117.5 points during its 1-8 skid.

Oklahoma City, beyond Thompson, has seen solid play from Anthony Pritchard, who recorded a 16-point, 10-rebound, eight-assist near-triple-double against Austin. Finding secondary scoring and tightening its defense will be paramount for the Blue to snap its slide on the road.

Following Saturday’s game, San Diego begins a six-game homestand on Jan. 30 against College Park. Oklahoma City continues its road trip before returning home to face Windy City on Jan. 26.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. PST at Frontwave Arena.
