Capital City vs. Austin

LEANDER, Texas (Interstat) — The Austin Spurs used a dominant second quarter and a late defensive stand to hold off the Capital City Go-Go 110-103 in a G League contest Thursday night at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.

The game’s most critical sequence came in the final 10 seconds with Austin clinging to a 109-107 lead. Capital City’s Skal Labissiere lost the ball on a drive, with Austin’s Harrison Ingram securing the steal. After Ingram was fouled, Stanley Umude sank two free throws with 10 seconds left to push the lead to four. Capital City’s final attempt, a desperation three-pointer by Leaky Black as time expired, missed, sealing the victory for the home team.

Austin improved to 19-6 with the win, while Capital City fell to .500 at 13-13.

The Spurs, who trailed 32-28 after a high-scoring first quarter, seized control before halftime. They outscored the Go-Go 31-28 in the second period to take a 59-60 lead into the break, a margin they would not relinquish. Capital City stayed within striking distance throughout the second half but could never mount a sustained run to overtake Austin, which maintained a steady offensive output across all four quarters.

Austin’s Harrison Ingram delivered a standout all-around performance, recording 11 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists. His work on the glass and as a facilitator proved pivotal. Jayden Nunn led the Spurs in scoring with 23 points, adding four rebounds and four assists. Kyle Mangas contributed 24 points, and Donovan Williams added 18.

For Capital City, Keshon Gilbert shouldered the offensive load with a game-high 27 points to go with seven rebounds and six assists. Skal Labissiere provided 20 points and eight rebounds. Leaky Black scored 15 points and Nolan Hickman added 15 points and five assists.

The game was a back-and-forth affair early, featuring 10 lead changes in the first quarter alone. Capital City built an early advantage behind hot shooting, but Austin’s depth and balance allowed it to weather the initial storm and build a lead it would protect for the final three quarters.

According to Interstat’s ELO system, Austin entered the game with a 79.4% probability to win. The two teams are scheduled for a quick rematch at the same venue Friday night.
