Capital City vs. Austin
Preview: Capital City Go-Go at Austin Spurs
LEANDER, Texas (Interstat) — A surging Austin Spurs squad will host the inconsistent Capital City Go-Go in a G League matchup on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
The Spurs (17-6) enter with one of the league’s best records and are riding a four-game winning streak, most recently a 120-118 road victory over Salt Lake City on Jan. 15. Austin’s offense has been potent, averaging 116.2 points during the streak.
Guard Kyle Mangas has been a catalyst for Austin, scoring 28 and 25 points, respectively, in the two wins at Salt Lake City. Over his last three games, Mangas is averaging 25.3 points.
The Capital City Go-Go (13-12) have alternated wins and losses over their last six games but are coming off an impressive 113-102 road win at Texas on Monday. Guard Keshon Gilbert powered that victory with 28 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in 41 minutes.
Gilbert’s recent performances have fluctuated, but he showcased his star potential with a triple-double (25 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) in a blowout win at Westchester on New Year’s Day. His playmaking will be critical against a tough Austin defense.
The Go-Go will also look for continued production from forward Leaky Black, who had a double-double (15 points, 12 rebounds) in the win over Texas, and center Skal Labissiere, who added eight points, 12 rebounds and six blocks.
Austin’s balance has been key. In the Jan. 15 win, forward Harrison Ingram recorded a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, while guard David Jones added 19 points.
This game opens a brief two-game series between the teams, as they are scheduled to meet again at the same venue on Friday. It represents a test of momentum for the Spurs and an opportunity for the Go-Go to string together consecutive wins and climb above .500.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CST.
