Delaware vs. Noblesville
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (Interstat) — The Delaware Blue Coats seek immediate redemption when they face the Noblesville Boom in a G League rematch Monday at the Arena at Innovation Mile.
The Boom (10-15) dominated the Blue Coats (10-16) just one day prior, winning 126-102 on Sunday. Monday’s contest offers Delaware a quick chance to adjust and split the two-game set in Indiana.
A key focus for Delaware will be containing Noblesville guard Kam Jones, who orchestrated Sunday’s win with a near triple-double of 14 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Jones has averaged 14.5 points and 7.5 assists in his last two outings.
Delaware’s hopes hinge largely on the prolific form of forward Johni Broome. Despite Sunday’s loss, Broome is in the midst of a spectacular stretch, averaging 26.2 points and 8.9 rebounds over his last nine games. His peak was a 50-point, 17-rebound performance in a win at College Park on Jan. 16. Containing him is the Boom’s primary defensive challenge.
Both teams are clustered near the bottom of the league standings, making this a critical game for momentum. Delaware has shown a high-octane offense, scoring 155 points in a win last week, but has struggled with consistency. Noblesville has alternated wins and losses in its last five games.
The Boom have been strong at home lately, winning three of their last four at the Arena at Innovation Mile. The Blue Coats have found wins elusive on the road, with a 4-9 record away from Wilmington.
Following Monday’s game, Noblesville begins a two-game road trip at Wisconsin on Thursday. Delaware returns home to host Motor City on Jan. 24.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
