Cleveland vs. Grand Rapids
Preview: Cleveland Charge at Grand Rapids Gold
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Interstat) — The Grand Rapids Gold look to solidify their standing in the G League’s Eastern Conference when they host the Cleveland Charge on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026, at Van Andel Arena.
The Gold (15-10) enter with a three-game lead over the Charge (12-10) in the conference and are coming off a 102-92 road win over Noblesville on Thursday. Guard Curtis Jones has been a catalyst, averaging 23.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists over his last five games. He posted 26 points, nine rebounds and six assists in the victory.
Cleveland seeks to snap a three-game skid, with all losses coming on the road by a combined eight points. Their most recent defeat was a 114-112 heartbreaker at Texas on Jan. 11. The Charge’s recent struggles have come despite strong play from forward Norchad Omier, who is averaging a double-double with 20.0 points and 11.4 rebounds over his last seven contests. He scored 28 points in the loss to Texas.
This matchup is the third of the season between the teams. They split a two-game series in Cleveland in November, with the Charge winning 134-126 on Nov. 22 after dropping the opener 132-118 on Nov. 21.
The game features a contrast in momentum. Grand Rapids has won three of its last five, while Cleveland has lost four of its last six but remains competitive in tight games. The outcome could hinge on the duel between Grand Rapids’ backcourt leader Jones and Cleveland’s interior force Omier.
Following Sunday’s contest, the teams will meet again at Van Andel Arena on Tuesday.
