Greensboro vs. Westchester

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Greensboro Swarm used a dominant second quarter to build a substantial lead and then held off a persistent Westchester Knicks offense for a 123-111 victory in the NBA G League on Thursday night at Westchester County Center.

The Swarm improved to 17-7, while the Knicks fell to 4-20.

Greensboro seized control of the game with a 36-point second quarter, turning a 27-21 first-quarter lead into a 63-54 halftime advantage. The offensive outburst was fueled by efficient shooting and ball movement, contrasting with a Westchester attack that relied heavily on perimeter attempts. The Swarm shot 51.1% from the field for the game, while the Knicks were held to 39% and launched 56 three-pointers, making 21.

The most important stretch of the game came late in the third quarter as Westchester threatened to erase the deficit. After a three-pointer from Bryson Warren gave the Knicks an 81-74 lead, the Swarm responded with a timeout and a decisive 11-0 run to close the quarter. The run was capped by a Jaylen Sims tip-in at the buzzer, giving Greensboro an 89-89 tie and all the momentum heading into the final period.

Greensboro then opened the fourth quarter on a 14-2 surge to put the game out of reach, with Keyontae Johnson and K.J. Simpson orchestrating the offense. The Knicks never got closer than nine points the rest of the way.

Johnson led the Swarm with 22 points in 27 minutes, adding five rebounds and two assists. Antonio Reeves scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Simpson facilitated with 18 points and eight assists. Ibou Badji anchored the defense with four blocks.

For Westchester, Bryson Warren scored a game-high 29 points and dished out six assists. Isaiah Roby added 24 points and four assists, and Dink Pate finished with 18 points, six rebounds and seven assists.

The Swarm’s interior defense was pivotal, recording nine blocks and limiting Westchester to just five free throw attempts. Greensboro also won the rebounding battle 49-42 and committed only 11 personal fouls.

The victory continued Greensboro’s recent offensive prowess and handed Westchester its fifth consecutive loss. The Swarm have now won three of their last four games.
