Raptors 905 vs. Capital City
WASHINGTON (Interstat) — The Raptors 905 used a dominant second quarter and a powerful double-double from center Olivier Sarr to defeat the Capital City Go-Go 115-104 in a G League game Thursday night at CareFirst Arena.
The victory improved the league-leading Raptors to 24-2, while Capital City fell to 11-12.
The game’s pivotal stretch came in the second period. After a tightly contested first quarter that ended with the Go-Go leading 28-23, the Raptors seized control with a 32-point offensive outburst while clamping down defensively to hold Capital City to just 20 points. That 12-point swing gave Raptors 905 a 55-48 halftime lead they would not relinquish.
Sarr was the engine for the visitors, finishing with 24 points and 14 rebounds in 28 minutes. He also added three assists and three blocked shots, anchoring the paint at both ends. His performance set the tone, particularly during the decisive second-quarter run where his interior presence created opportunities for his teammates.
Guard Tyreke Key provided crucial scoring support for Raptors 905 with 25 points. David Roddy flirted with a triple-double, contributing 10 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. The Raptors’ ball movement was evident as they assisted on 28 of their 43 made field goals.
Capital City was led by a game-high 30 points from Alondes Williams. Sharife Cooper orchestrated the Go-Go offense with 11 assists to go with 14 points, and Leaky Black added 17 points and seven rebounds. Despite their efforts, the Go-Go could not overcome their second-quarter deficit or contain Sarr’s efficiency inside.
The Raptors maintained their lead throughout the second half, answering every Capital City push. The Go-Go closed the gap to nine points late in the fourth quarter after a 3-pointer and two free throws from Williams, but Sarr sealed the game with a layup off a Roddy assist with 19 seconds remaining.
The win continued Raptors 905’s strong season and marked their third victory over Capital City this season. The two teams are scheduled to meet again in Washington on Saturday.
