Raptors 905 vs. Capital City

Dominant Raptors 905 Visit Capital City Go-Go in G League Showdown

WASHINGTON (Interstat) — The surging Raptors 905, boasting the G League’s best record, visit the Capital City Go-Go at CareFirst Arena on Thursday night in a matchup of teams on opposite trajectories.

Raptors 905 (23-2) arrive as the league’s powerhouse, having won 10 of their last 11 games. Their most recent outing was a 99-98 overtime road victory over Birmingham on Tuesday, secured behind 23 points and eight rebounds from guard Tyreke Key. Key has been a consistent offensive force, averaging 19.6 points over his last 10 contests.

The Toronto Raptors’ affiliate has dominated the season series, winning both prior meetings in early December by an average margin of 21.5 points.

Capital City (11-10) seeks stability and a signature win to climb above .500. The Go-Go have alternated wins and losses in their last six games but are coming off a 114-106 home victory over Motor City on Jan. 9. Center Skal Labissiere powered that win with 25 points, eight rebounds and two blocks, continuing a strong stretch where he has averaged 21.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.9 blocks over his last seven games.

The Go-Go will need a major defensive effort to slow a Raptors 905 offense that has scored 117 or more points in four of its last five games. Capital City’s frontcourt, led by Labissiere, will be tested by a Raptors 905 interior that features Julian Reese and Olivier Sarr, who combined for 18 points and 19 rebounds in Tuesday’s win.

Thursday’s contest is the first of a quick home-and-home set, with the teams scheduled to meet again in Washington on Saturday.
