Oklahoma City vs. Rip City

PORTLAND, Ore. (Interstat) — The Rip City Remix used a dominant second quarter to pull away from the Oklahoma City Blue and cruise to a 123-99 victory in a G League game Wednesday night at the Chiles Center.

The game was closely contested in the opening period, with Oklahoma City holding a 32-26 lead after one quarter. The momentum shifted decisively in the second, as the Remix outscored the Blue 36-26. A key sequence saw Rip City’s Sean Pedulla convert a steal into a layup and, after an Oklahoma City turnover, Jayson Kent hit a 3-pointer to cap a 9-0 run that extended the lead to 47-38. The Remix closed the half on a 5-0 spurt, including a running pull-up jumper by Javonte Cooke at the buzzer, to take a 62-58 advantage into halftime.

Rip City maintained control throughout the second half, stretching the lead to 91-88 by the end of the third quarter and then putting the game out of reach with a 15-2 run early in the fourth. The burst was highlighted by consecutive 3-pointers from Pedulla and Blake Hinson, pushing the margin to 109-98 with just over five minutes remaining. The Remix defense held Oklahoma City to only 18 points in the final quarter to secure the win.

The most important part of the game was Rip City’s overwhelming second-quarter performance, which established a lead they would not relinquish. The period featured a 9-0 run that broke a tight game open and was fueled by defensive pressure that created turnovers and transition opportunities, setting the tone for the remainder of the contest.

Dillon Jones led a balanced Rip City attack with 18 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists. Yang Hansen added 22 points and seven rebounds, while Javonte Cooke scored 19 points and Sean Pedulla finished with 17 points and six assists.

For Oklahoma City, Brooks Barnhizer recorded a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Dariq Whitehead scored 15 points and Zhaire Smith added 10 points and six assists.

With the loss, Oklahoma City falls to 6-17 on the season. Rip City improves to 13-11. The two teams will meet again in Portland on Friday.
