Oklahoma City vs. Rip City
OKLAHOMA CITY BLUE AT RIP CITY REMIX
PORTLAND, Ore. (Interstat) — The Rip City Remix look to continue their push above .500 when they host the struggling Oklahoma City Blue in a G League matchup Wednesday night at the Chiles Center.
The Remix (12-11) enter on a high note after a decisive 117-98 road victory over the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Sunday. Center Andrew Carr powered the win with 28 points and 16 rebounds, continuing a strong stretch of play. Over his last 10 games, Carr is averaging 18.4 points and 10.5 rebounds, providing consistent interior production for Rip City.
Oklahoma City (6-16), meanwhile, seeks to halt a three-game skid following a 124-102 loss at the Valley Vipers on Jan. 7. The Blue have lost eight of their last 10 contests.
The visiting Blue will lean heavily on guard Zhaire Smith, who has been a bright spot during the difficult stretch. Smith is coming off a 25-point, 9-rebound performance in the loss to Valley and has been a volume scorer and playmaker. In his last seven games, Smith is averaging 24.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 6.0 assists while logging heavy minutes.
For the Remix, containing Smith will be a key defensive focus. Alongside Carr’s inside presence, Rip City has received steady contributions from forwards Romeo Weems and Blake Hinson, who combined for 41 points in Sunday’s win.
This game is the first of a quick two-game set between the teams at the Chiles Center, with a rematch scheduled for Friday. Oklahoma City begins a four-game road trip with this visit to Portland, while the Remix play the second game of a five-game homestand.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST.
