Osceola vs. Windy City
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (Interstat) — The Osceola Magic used a dominant second-quarter turnaround to secure a 130-114 road victory over the Windy City Bulls in a G League matchup Saturday at Sears Centre, avenging a loss from the previous night.
The game began as a shootout, with Windy City erupting for 42 points in the first quarter behind hot shooting from Emanuel Miller and Kevin Knox. The Bulls led by 14 points after the opening period. The momentum shifted drastically in the second quarter, however, as Osceola’s defense stiffened and its offense found a relentless rhythm. The Magic outscored the Bulls 38-15 in the frame, turning the double-digit deficit into a nine-point halftime lead.
Osceola maintained control throughout the second half, extending its lead by matching Windy City’s 26-point output in the third quarter and closing out the game with a 26-point fourth quarter. The Magic’s balanced attack proved overwhelming, as they consistently answered any attempt by the Bulls to mount a comeback.
The most pivotal segment of the game was unquestionably the second quarter. After surrendering 42 points in the first, Osceola locked down defensively, holding Windy City to just 15 points on a series of missed shots and turnovers. Offensively, the Magic executed efficiently in transition and in half-court sets, with Lester Quinones and Justin Minaya providing key scoring during the 23-point swing. This quarter fundamentally changed the trajectory of the contest, allowing Osceola to play from ahead for the final 24 minutes.
With the win, Osceola improved its season record to 13-8, while Windy City moved to an even 10-10. The Magic next travel to face Birmingham on Thursday. The Bulls will host Delaware on the same night.
