Stockton vs. Rip City

PORTLAND, Ore. (Interstat) — The Stockton Kings delivered a commanding wire-to-wire victory over the Rip City Remix, winning 129-100 in a G League matchup Tuesday night at the Chiles Center. The win avenged a loss to the same team just one day prior and improved Stockton’s record to 9-5, while Rip City fell to 8-6.

The most critical phase of the game was its opening minutes, where Stockton established a decisive advantage from which Rip City never recovered. The Kings’ defensive intensity and opportunistic offense set the tone immediately. On the game’s first possession, Rip City’s Dillon Jones committed a bad pass turnover, stolen by Stockton’s Dylan Cardwell. Though Stockton’s Devin Carter missed the initial shot, it foreshadowed a sloppy start for the home team. Just over 40 seconds into the contest, another Rip City turnover, this time by center Yang Hansen, led directly to a Carter 3-pointer for the first points.

Rip City’s struggles compounded rapidly. They committed three turnovers and missed their first shot before Javonte Cooke finally scored on a dunk with 10:38 remaining in the quarter. By that time, the disruptive rhythm was firmly in Stockton’s favor. The Kings’ defense forced six Rip City turnovers in the first quarter alone, converting them into easy transition opportunities and open shots. Stockton’s offensive execution was equally sharp, with Carter and Jon Elmore connecting from deep and Daeqwon Plowden attacking the rim effectively.

This early dominance allowed Stockton to build a 29-22 lead after the first quarter. They then exploded for 37 points in the second quarter, extending their lead to 66-51 by halftime. The Kings’ first-quarter performance was the foundational block of the victory, as it imposed their will, capitalized on opponent mistakes and created a comfortable margin that Rip City spent the rest of the evening unsuccessfully trying to overcome.

Stockton maintained its offensive efficiency throughout, adding 35 points in the third quarter and 28 in the fourth. The lead never dipped into single digits after the opening period, as the Kings consistently answered any modest Rip City run with a scoring burst of their own.

The Remix were led by Javonte Cooke, who fought for 22 points in the losing effort. Yang Hansen added 16 points and Sean Pedulla contributed 15 off the bench. For Stockton, a balanced attack was key, with multiple players contributing to the high-scoring total, though specific individual point totals were not immediately available.

The two teams will meet again twice in late December, both games in Stockton, as part of a tight G League Showcase Cup schedule.
