Delaware vs. Capital City

Preview of Delaware Blue Coats at Capital City Go-Go

WASHINGTON (Interstat) — The Capital City Go-Go will look to build on a decisive victory and continue their climb above .500 when they host the struggling Delaware Blue Coats in a G League rematch Tuesday afternoon at CareFirst Arena.

The teams just met on Sunday, with the Go-Go (6-7) rolling to a 127-107 home win. Capital City will aim for a repeat performance against a Blue Coats squad mired in a five-game losing streak and sitting at 3-10 overall.

Delaware’s primary bright spot has been the consistent play of big man Johni Broome. He is coming off a 21-point, 10-rebound, 7-assist, 4-block effort in Thursday’s loss to Raptors 905, his third double-double in the last four games. Over that stretch, Broome is averaging 22.8 points and 10.3 rebounds.

Capital City counters with its own versatile forward in Skal Labissiere. He posted a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double in just 27 minutes during Friday’s 111-77 blowout of Maine. In his last five contests, Labissiere is averaging 21.6 points and 8.2 rebounds.

The Go-Go have shown recent improvement, winning two of their last three games after a four-game skid. Their defense will be tested by Broome, but they dominated the interior in Sunday’s matchup.

For Delaware, stopping the slide is paramount. The Blue Coats have lost 10 of their last 11 games, with several defeats coming in close fashion, including a 137-135 overtime loss to Long Island on Dec. 6.

Tuesday’s contest is the second of a two-game set in Washington. Following this matchup, both teams break for the holiday before resuming play on Dec. 27. Delaware will visit the Cleveland Charge, while Capital City travels to face the College Park Skyhawks.
