Raptors 905 vs. Westchester
Undefeated Raptors 905 Face Struggling Westchester Knicks in G League Clash
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (Interstat) — A matchup of polar opposites highlights the G League slate Tuesday as the undefeated Raptors 905 visit the struggling Westchester Knicks at Westchester County Center.
The Raptors (13-0), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, are the league’s last remaining unbeaten team. They arrive fresh off a 112-107 road victory at Maine on Sunday, extending the best start in franchise history. Their season includes a narrow 113-110 win over these same Knicks on Nov. 14.
Westchester (1-11), the affiliate of the New York Knicks, has lost 10 of its last 11 games. The Knicks are coming off a 110-103 home loss to Long Island on Friday, a game in which forward Nick Jourdain posted 25 points and 14 rebounds.
A key matchup will feature Raptors’ forward Jonathan Mogbo against Westchester’s Jourdain. Mogbo has been a model of consistency for the league leaders, scoring in double figures in seven of his last eight games and averaging 16.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists over that stretch. In his last outing, a win over Delaware on Dec. 11, he scored 17 points with seven rebounds.
Jourdain has been a bright spot for Westchester amid its losses, averaging a double-double of 14.4 points and 10.0 rebounds over his last five contests. He logged 43 minutes in Friday’s defeat.
The Raptors’ offense has been relentless, topping 120 points in five of their last seven games. Westchester’s defense, allowing an average of 109.5 points per game, will be severely tested.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Raptors are projected to win 121-100.
This game is the second of three scheduled meetings this season. The teams will conclude their series in Mississauga, Ontario, on Dec. 30.
For Westchester, the schedule offers little respite after Tuesday, with a back-to-back against Birmingham set for Dec. 27-28. The Raptors continue their road swing before returning home to host Maine on Dec. 27.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST.
