Slumping Westchester Knicks Face Greensboro Swarm in G League Rematch

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Interstat) — The Westchester Knicks look to halt a six-game slide and avenge a recent blowout loss when they visit the Greensboro Swarm in a G League contest Sunday at Greensboro Coliseum Fieldhouse.

Westchester (1-7) enters reeling, having lost 111-116 at College Park on Wednesday despite a historic triple-double from guard Dink Pate. The Swarm (6-4), coming off a 124-106 road win at Capital City on Nov. 30, handily defeated the Knicks 74-47 just two days ago in a defensive-dominated affair.

The Knicks’ hopes hinge largely on Pate, who is coming off a spectacular 37-point, 11-rebound, 13-assist performance. Over his last five games, the guard is averaging 22.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 7.6 assists. Support in Wednesday’s loss came from Toby Okani (15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists) and Adama-Alpha Bal (28 points).

Greensboro counters with forward Tidjane Salaun, a consistent two-way contributor. Salaun is averaging 17.3 points and 7.2 rebounds over his last six outings, including a 20-point, 6-rebound effort in the win over Capital City. He is complemented by center P.J. Hall, who posted an 11-point, 12-rebound double-double in that game.

The Swarm’s defense was the story of Friday’s meeting, holding Westchester to a season-low in points. Replicating that effort will be key against a Knicks team that, while struggling to win, has shown offensive capability, scoring 111 or more points in three of its last five games.

Following Sunday’s game, Westchester returns home to face Long Island on Dec. 10. Greensboro begins a two-game road set at College Park on Dec. 12.
