Osceola vs. Oklahoma City
OKLAHOMA CITY (Interstat) — In a high-octane offensive showcase, the Osceola Magic used a blistering first-half shooting performance to build a substantial lead and never looked back, defeating the Oklahoma City Blue 139-123 in a G League game Saturday night at Cox Convention Center.
The Magic, who also defeated the Blue on Thursday, improved to 8-3. Oklahoma City fell to 4-7.
The most critical phase of the game was the opening quarter, where Osceola established an offensive rhythm that Oklahoma City could not match. Despite the Blue shooting 50% from the field and making five 3-pointers in the first 12 minutes, the Magic were relentless. Osceola shot 65% from the floor and connected on 7 of 11 from beyond the arc, scoring 42 points to take a four-point lead after one quarter.
That momentum carried into the second period, where the Magic defense tightened. Osceola held Oklahoma City to 24 points on 33% shooting, extending their lead to 73-62 by halftime. The Magic’s offensive efficiency was staggering, scoring 73 first-half points on 60% shooting from the field and 11-of-19 from 3-point range.
Osceola’s offensive rating of 144.8 for the game underscored their dominance. They finished 46 of 78 from the field (59%) and an explosive 21 of 37 from 3-point range (56.8%). The Magic also controlled the glass, outrebounding the Blue 47-34.
While Oklahoma City found more offensive consistency after halftime, scoring 61 points in the second half, they could not string together enough defensive stops to seriously threaten. The Blue shot 43 of 92 overall (46.7%) and 19 of 44 from deep (43.2%), but were ultimately overwhelmed by Osceola’s precision.
Jamal Cain led Osceola with 29 points, six rebounds and three assists, continuing a stretch of strong performances. Lester Quinones added 30 points and eight rebounds. Orlando Robinson contributed 17 points and nine rebounds.
For Oklahoma City, Zack Austin and Chris Youngblood each scored 29 points. Malevy Leons posted a versatile line of 15 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Cameron Brown added 23 points.
The Magic maintained a double-digit lead throughout the vast majority of the second half. Every time Oklahoma City trimmed the deficit to around 10 points, Osceola answered with a timely 3-pointer or a basket inside, their lead never dipping below nine points in the final two quarters. A late 3-pointer by Quinones with seven seconds remaining provided the final margin.
Osceola next plays at Memphis on Thursday. Oklahoma City hosts Birmingham on Thursday.
