Maine vs. Westchester
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Maine Celtics used a dominant first half to cruise past the Westchester Knicks 122-95 in a G League matchup on Sunday at Westchester County Center.
Maine established control early, leading 31-26 after the first quarter before exploding for 34 points in the second period to take a commanding 65-52 lead into halftime. The Celtics maintained their offensive efficiency after the break, adding 31 more points in the third quarter and 26 in the fourth to secure the lopsided victory. Westchester was held under 26 points in every quarter, scoring 19 in the final period.
The win improved Maine’s record to 6-3 this season, while Westchester fell to 1-6. The Celtics have now defeated the Knicks in two consecutive games, following a 98-84 victory on Friday.
Kendall Brown, a small forward from Cottage Grove, Minnesota, led a balanced Maine attack. Hayden Gray, the point guard from Solana Beach, California, orchestrated the offense with a series of assists and key baskets. Stefan Todorovic, a shooting guard from Belgrade, Serbia, provided a significant scoring punch from the perimeter.
For Westchester, Pacome Dadiet and Nick Jourdain of Clifton, New Jersey, were the primary sources of offense. The Knicks struggled to find a consistent rhythm against a stifling Maine defense that forced numerous turnovers and contested shots throughout the game.
The contest was the second of a back-to-back set between the two teams. Maine will next face College Park at home on Dec. 6, while Westchester begins a road trip at College Park on Dec. 3.
