Rio Grande Valley vs. Austin
LEANDER, Texas (Interstat) — The Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Austin Spurs will complete a rare G League back-to-back Monday at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park after a high-scoring affair went the home team’s way.
The Spurs (6-1) held off the Vipers (3-3) 130-123 on Sunday, handing Rio Grande Valley its second loss in three games. Austin’s Kyle Mangas led all scorers with 34 points, adding six rebounds and five assists. Harrison Ingram recorded a 17-point, 16-rebound double-double in the win.
Rio Grande Valley’s J.D. Davison countered with 25 points and six assists in the loss, while Daishen Nix added 24 points. The Vipers have shown offensive firepower, averaging over 122 points in their last three outings, but their defense will be tested again by a potent Austin squad.
The Spurs have been the class of the early season, with Sunday’s victory marking their sixth win in seven games. Their only blemish was a 110-102 home loss to Osceola on Thursday.
Monday’s contest is the final meeting between the teams in the regular season. The Spurs will host Oklahoma City on Friday, while the Vipers return home to face Osceola on Saturday.
