Delaware vs. Maine

PORTLAND, Maine (Interstat) — In a high-scoring G League affair on Sunday, the Maine Celtics outlasted the Delaware Blue Coats 129-119 at the Portland Exposition Building.

The Celtics, improving to 4-3 across all competitions, used a dominant second-quarter surge to build a lead the Blue Coats could not overcome. Despite a game-high 43-point first quarter from Delaware, Maine answered with a 36-point second period to take control.

Kendall Brown led a balanced Maine attack with 18 points, nine assists and six rebounds. His playmaking was central to the Celtics’ offense, facilitating ball movement that led to several key baskets. Kam Warrens provided a significant scoring punch off the bench with 22 points.

The Celtics’ interior presence was anchored by Amari Williams, who pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds to go with eight points and seven assists. Aaron Scott also contributed 16 points and six rebounds for Maine.

Delaware, which fell to 1-4 with the loss, was led by Malcolm Hill’s 19 points, seven assists and six rebounds in a team-high 42 minutes of play. The Blue Coats’ offense, which started explosively, cooled in the middle quarters, scoring just 25 and 22 points in the second and third periods, respectively.

The game was a back-and-forth contest early, featuring 10 lead changes in the first quarter alone. Delaware’s hot start was fueled by efficient outside shooting, but Maine’s defense tightened as the game progressed, creating turnovers and converting them into transition opportunities.

This was the second consecutive game between the two teams, with Maine also winning 113-111 on Friday. The Celtics have now won three of their last four games.

Delaware’s next game is on the road against the Westchester Knicks on Wednesday. Maine travels to face Westchester on Friday. According to Interstat’s ELO system, Maine entered the game with an 82.70 percent probability to win.
