Greensboro vs. Long Island

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Long Island Nets used a torrent of three-point shooting and a dynamic performance from point guard Nolan Traore to outlast the Greensboro Swarm 128-113 in a G League matchup on Saturday night at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

The Nets, playing at home, seized control of the game early and never trailed, building a double-digit lead in the first quarter and successfully fending off every Greensboro push. The victory improved Long Island’s record to 2-3, while the Swarm fell to 4-3.

Long Island’s offensive success was fueled by remarkable efficiency from beyond the arc. The Nets connected on 22 of 46 three-point attempts, a stark contrast to Greensboro’s 10-for-31 shooting from deep. This long-range barrage was the primary driver behind Long Island’s superior offensive rating of 132.3 points per 100 possessions, compared to Greensboro’s 120.2.

Nets point guard Nolan Traore orchestrated the victory with a team-high 28 points and nine assists. His backcourt partner, Yuri Collins, added 16 points, eight assists and six rebounds, forming a potent duo that consistently broke down the Swarm defense. The frontcourt provided ample support, with Tre Scott scoring 19 points and grabbing eight rebounds, Danny Wolf contributing 20 points, six rebounds and five assists, and Jeenathan Williams chipping in 17 points.

Despite the loss, Greensboro had several standout individual efforts. Keyontae Johnson led all scorers with 27 points, adding six rebounds and five assists. Tidjane Salaun posted 23 points and six rebounds, while Jaylen Sims scored 21 points. Terrell Brown facilitated the offense with nine assists.

The game’s pattern was established in the opening period. Long Island erupted for 34 points, powered by four three-pointers, and led by eight points after one quarter. They extended that lead to 67-51 by halftime, shooting 13 for 24 from three-point range in the first half alone.

Greensboro mounted a challenge in the third quarter, outscoring Long Island 30-29, but could not cut the deficit to single digits. The Nets effectively closed the door in the final period, matching the Swarm’s 32 points to secure the 15-point win.

Beyond the three-point discrepancy, Long Island also won the turnover battle, committing 10 to Greensboro’s 14, and dished out more assists. Greensboro held a slight edge in rebounding and blocked shots, but it was not enough to overcome the Nets’ offensive firepower.

The two teams are scheduled for a quick rematch at the same venue on Monday.
