Mexico City vs. Osceola

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Interstat) — Colin Castleton scored a game-high 32 points to lead the Osceola Magic to a hard-fought 117-111 victory over the Mexico City Capitanes in a G League matchup on Thursday afternoon at Silver Spurs Arena.

The win kept the Magic undefeated on the young season, improving to 3-0, while the Capitanes fell to 0-3.

Osceola built its victory on a consistent offensive attack, scoring at least 26 points in every quarter. After a first quarter that ended deadlocked at 27, the Magic began to create separation in the second period, outscoring Mexico City 26-23 to take a 53-50 lead into halftime.

The third quarter saw the Capitanes mount a significant challenge, erupting for 34 points. However, the Magic answered with 32 points of their own to maintain a slim 85-84 edge heading into the final frame. Osceola then closed the game strong, matching its third-quarter output with another 32 points in the fourth to secure the six-point win.

Castleton, the Magic’s 6-foot-10 center, was efficient from the floor and added five rebounds and two blocks to his scoring total. He was supported by a balanced offensive effort from his teammates. Jamal Cain recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Ja’Vonte Smart provided a spark off the bench with 15 points and five rebounds. Jalen Crutcher facilitated the offense with a team-high seven assists to go with 11 points.

For Mexico City, Felipe Haase, a 6-foot-9 center, was held to nine points and five rebounds. The Capitanes struggled to find a consistent scoring leader to counter Osceola’s multifaceted attack.

The game was tightly contested throughout, featuring 13 ties and 15 lead changes. Osceola ultimately created just enough breathing room in the final minutes, capitalizing on key free throws down the stretch to keep Mexico City at bay.

The Magic will look to continue their winning streak as they host the Birmingham Squadron on Friday. The Capitanes, still in search of their first victory, return home to face the Oklahoma City Blue on Sunday.
