Birmingham vs. Austin
LEANDER, Texas (Interstat) — The Birmingham Squadron and Austin Spurs will look to kick off their 2025-26 G League campaigns Sunday when they meet for the second time in three days at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
Both teams enter the season opener with 0-0 records. The in-state rivals opened their schedules against each other on Friday in Birmingham, with the result of that contest unavailable for this preview.
The Spurs, the NBA G League affiliate of the San Antonio Spurs, are looking to bounce back from a 112-118 loss to the Stockton Kings to end their previous season on April 6. The Squadron concluded their last campaign with a 119-124 road loss to the Osceola Magic on March 29.
This contest begins a challenging early road stretch for Birmingham, which will play seven of its next eight games away from home. Following this game, the Squadron travel to face the Oklahoma City Blue on Tuesday.
Austin, meanwhile, will enjoy a more favorable start to its schedule, playing five of its next six games at home. The Spurs’ next contest is a road game against the Memphis Hustle on Nov. 15.
Tipoff is set for Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025.
